Seasonal-to-decadal climate predictability in the Mediterranean: process understanding and services (MEDUSSE)

STSMs are research exchange visits aimed at supporting individual mobility, strengthening existing networks, and fostering collaboration between researchers working, in particular for MEDUSSE action, on Mediterranean climate variability, predictability, Climate Services or climate prediction in the Mediterranen region. These missions allow researchers to visit a host institution in another country to gain access to data, tools, infrastructure, or expertise not available in their home institution.

Who Can Apply?

Researchers from any institutions who contribute to the scientific objectives of the MEDUSSE Action, helping to achieve the Action MoU objectives and deliverables. 

PhD students and Early Career Investigators (ECIs) are particularly encouraged to apply.

STSM Period: Missions must take place between 16/03/2026 and 30/09/2026.

Funding: STSM grants will cover travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses up to €2,500, depending on the mission length and destination. Exceptionally, higher funding may be considered if properly justified.

How to Apply:

    1. STSM Work Plan: including scientific objectives, budget and expected outcomes. Please use the STSM application template
    2. Letter of invitation from the Host Institution
    3. Short CV (max. 2 pages)


After the STSM:  submit the report of the STSM during the 15 days after the STSM
